Rainbow(Niji) Academy, is a nickname given by most of the students to the school they attend. The full name of the school is Kouryoukan Academy, but in kanji 虹陵館学園 if you take 虹 and 校, which means respectively Rainbow and School. You will end up with Rainbow Academy.
For those wondering about the origins of the legendary blades mentioned in the anime, check this Wikipedia List of Japanese Blades(some Chinese).
I’ll give a list of Kanji – Romaji of the blades to help people find the blades without knowing any kanji.
Kogarasumaru Amakuni (小烏丸天国)
Kashagiri Hiromitsu (火車切広光)
Raikiri (雷切)
Kannagiri Nagamitsu(鉋切長光)
Doujigiri Yasutsuna(童子切安綱)
Gehou in this case means foreign magic(from the west AKA Europe), unorthodox technique, basically anything the Kusakabe Family sees as inferior or inappropriate.
Eye Rejuvenator – Well, it isn’t a proper word in the dictionary, but it is a kind of cosmetic product that covers up black eyes, which are caused by a lack of sleep.
Shoka no Ursula – Shoka means “bookshelf”, so to translate the entire thing, it’d read “Ursula of the Bookshelf”. Sounds pretty bad doesn’t it? There’s more names like that from Index Librorum Prohibitorum.
